The Board of Trustees of VMFT is delighted to announce its new President, Prof. Jameela Begum. She joined the Board as a Trustee in April 2024 and has been leading the work in various focus areas of the VMFT over the past year. She has been associated with the work of VMFT over the past decade.
Prof. Jameela Begum A. is an acclaimed educationist and scholar, with experience in both academics and administration. Her research has covered culture, history, literature and innovations in pedagogy and she has published over a dozen books. Jameela was Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Senate Member of the University of Kerala. She also held the positions of Head of the Department of English, Director of the Centre for Canadian Studies and the Chairperson of the Curriculum Committee in English of ASAP of the Govt. of Kerala. Currently, she is the Director of the Literary and Cultural Forum of the All India Women’s Conference. She has a a Ph.D in English Literature.
