Abstract
Neurological disorders are diseases or disorders of the nervous system.The nervous system is a complex collection of nerves and specialized cells that transmit signals between different parts of the body. This helps all the body parts to communicate with each other. The nervous system uses both electrical and chemical means to send and receive messages.It is essentially the body’s electrical wiring. Any disorder in the transmission of signals / electrical communication causes discomfort or ailment to the system.
These disorders include epilepsy, Alzheimer disease and other dementias, cerebrovascular diseases including stroke, migraine and other headache disorders, multiple sclerosis, Parkinson’s disease, disability in walking, talking, hearing, smell and other neurological disorders because of malnutrition. Here the speaker explains a few engineering applications on how to detect and treat the disorder with examples, so that the researchers, designers, budding engineers, manufacturers and clinicians can think of coming out with new innovative ideas to help the humanity.
